If you'd like to make one of these cute little critters at home you can find my inspiration here at Cleverpatch. We used double side tape, carefully slit with a stanley knife (all before the kids arrived - safety first, of course!) instead of glue because I wanted those little suckers to stay stuck within the 20 minute lunch break. Also, not wanting to stifle their creativity, there was no green and blue for us - all colours of the rainbow were used. Don't they look amazing?
Day two of Book Week 2016 is done and dusted! What a buzz there was in the Library @ Lunch with about 40 of our students taking time out from their outside play to come and make a peg piranha. Our inspiration was one of our favourite books at the moment - Aaron Blabey's, 'Piranhas don't eat bananas'. Which just so happens, was also shortlisted by the Children's Book Council of Australia for the Book of the Year: Early Childhood.
